Dora,Diego, Wonder pets,Imagination movers,Yo gabba gabba,Backyardagins,Mickey mouse club house,Hip hop Harry,and now Special agent Oso. Who or what are these you ask? These are the animated little dudes that are rearing our toddlers of today. Our bilingual "pequinia"jabber jaws are teaching them in 30 minute blocks every morning. And now with the the addition of noggin, it's a computer generated smorgasboard 24-7. It's so funny to see my almost 2 year old go nuts when she hears any of the before mentioned theme songs!
And of course it goes without saying, the onslaught of products are the next progression in the what I like to refer as generation N(for noggin).
From toothpaste to fruit snacks, the list goes on. Who are these people who come up with these concepts? And what are they like in real life? Can you imagine this, "hey Lee you wanna grab some lunch?" Lee answers back, "what do you think,should I go. If yes say yes.....(long significant pause)..... Yeah. Good answer! Yes we want yummy in our tummy!
Or what if the writers are 40 something bald fat guys who got beat up as kids. They run subliminal phrases in all of their shows. Hit the cat. Smack your brother. Throw your green beans. I'm just saying. I like to think that these shows are educational and getting her ready for school. Then I remember.... I used to watch pee wee Herman.
